Accessibility Statement

"It is the policy of the CSU to make information technology resources and services accessible to all CSU students, faculty, staff and the general public regardless of disability" - Executive Order 1111

As part of our commitment to a diverse and inclusive university, California State University, Los Angeles strives for excellence in making all of the university's communications and information technology accessible to everyone. This philosophy coincides with Executive order 1111 from the California State University (CSU) Chancellor's Office, the Americans with Disabilities Act of 1990 (ADA), Section 504 & 508 of the Rehabilitation Act, alongside the CSU Accessible Technology Initiative (ATI).

CalStateLA's web content is guided by the Section 508 web standards, which include but are not limited to:

  • Alternative text for non-text elements
  • Multimedia with equivalent alternatives (i.e., closed captioning)
  • Color Contrast
  • Color not being the sole method to convey information
  • Descriptive links

At CalStateLA, we continuously improve the website's accessibility for all, but we understand errors may appear as the website's content is ever-changing.

Possible accessibility issues that may appear include:

  • Links
    • Broken links
    • Redundant or multiple links
    • Links with the same name but different locations
  • Images
    • Alternative text may not completely convey the image.
    • It may convey meaning but may not pass color contrast.
  • Multimedia (Video & Audio)
    • It may be missing captions and/or transcriptions.
  • Forms
    • Form labels may be missing, causing some issues with screen readers.

If you have discovered an accessibility barrier within CalStateLA's web presence, please report it immediately through the Report a Barrier form or sending an email to Accessibility.
