The late Sal Castro, a renowned teacher, education reformer and social justice activist, was awarded a posthumous honorary doctorate during Commencement. His wife Charlotte Lerchenmuller accepted the honor on his behalf.

Cal State LA celebrates dedication and naming of the Janice Cordova Garden of Well-Being

Cal State LA celebrated the dedication of the new Janice Cordova Garden of Well-Being, located between the Career Center and the Student Health Center on campus. The garden was named in honor of the late wife of alumnus Richard Cordova.

Cal State LA honors distinguished alumni at 2022 awards gala

Cal State LA honored 13 distinguished alumni at its 2022 Alumni Awards Gala, including Grifols Biologicals LLC President Willie Zuniga, who was named Alumnus of the Year. The gala also celebrated the university’s 75th anniversary.
