| Cal State L.A. Student Los Angeles, CA -- The Broadcast Education Association (BEA) Festival of Film, Video and Media Arts Committee recently announced Cal State L.A. broadcasting major Katy Boggio (Highland Park resident) as one of this yearÂs BEA Festival of Film, Video, and Media Arts competition winners. The BEA Festival had more than 400 entries overall, and all entries were reviewed by a panel of professional judges. The awards ceremony and screening will take place on Saturday, April 5, in the Las Vegas Convention Center, as part of the BEA annual convention. The objective of the Festival is to provide a national refereed exhibition of creative activity. Katy BoggioÂs ÂBS-1000Â received first place in the PSA/Promotional category of the BEAÂs Student Video Competition. Her video is a hysterical look at high-pressure television ads for questionable consumer electronics. Boggio produced her winning entry as part of an independent study project in the spring of 2002. Boggio also recently received a first place award in the TV-Short Form category for her work at the 12th Annual CSU Film and Video Festival in CSU Channel Islands. The Broadcast Education Association is the professional association for professors, industry professionals and graduate students who are interested in teaching and research related to electronic media and multimedia enterprises. There are currently more than 1,400 individual and institutional members.
