| The Luckman Presents LOS ANGELES  The Harriet & Charles Luckman Fine Arts Complex will present Lula Washington Dance TheatreÂs sixth annual Kwanzaa Celebration 2002 concert in the Luckman Theatre, Cal State L.A., on Monday, December 30, 2002 at 8:00 p.m. The concert will take place during Kwanzaa with African-based dances by WashingtonÂs nationally renowned dance company. The program will include exciting modern and African dance; fantastic drumming and uplifting gospel singing. A featured modern dance piece will be ÂAngels of Peace, set to the music of ÂWinter composed by George Winston. WashingtonÂs Youth Dance Ensemble and adult company will collaborate in a piece entitled ÂHarambe, a traditional African suite that illustrates the seven principles of Kwanzaa. Other dances will be set to the South African music of ÂSueto. More special guests and performances are to be announced. For the sixth year Washington has succeeded in her plan to incorporate ÂKwanzaa Celebration 2002 into Los AngelesÂs annual community celebration. Kwanzaa is a week of observance based around seven family principles  one for each day of the week. The holiday begins the day after Christmas and runs through New YearÂs Day. The seven Kwanzaa principles are unity, self-determination, collective work and responsibility, cooperative economics, purpose, creativity, and faith.
