| APPLICATIONS NOW AVAILABLE FOR LOS ANGELES, November 12, 1998- Dance Kaleidoscope, the annual showcase that demonstrates the diversity and richness of Southern California dance, now has applications available for its July 1999 festival. Forms are available by calling the Dance Kaleidoscope office at Cal State L.A., (323) 343-5124. Applications must be postmarked no later than January 8, 1999. Kaleidoscope seeks Southern California-based individual artists and companies whose work falls into one or more of the following categories: * Contemporary Dance, Ballet, Modern, Jazz, Performance Art Applicants must demonstrate a minimum of two years of professional choreographic experience. Premieres as well as reconstruction of dance works are encouraged. Solo artists as well as companies are invited to apply. Auditions will be held on the campus of Cal State L.A. on February 6, 7, 13 and 14. Only completed works will be accepted for audition. Videotape auditions, previously allowed as an option, will no longer be accepted. Works which utilize performers under 18 will only be considered for the family show. In 1999, Dance Kaleidoscope celebrates its 11th year based at California State University, Los Angeles. Performances are tentatively scheduled at the Luckman Theatre at Cal State L.A., the Japan America Theater in downtown Los Angeles, the California Plaza Water Court, and the John Anson Ford Amphitheatre in Hollywood.
