Cal State L.A.'s Roybal Institute Executive Director
Appointed to the ABA Commission on Law and Aging
Los Angeles, CA Â Pasadena resident Jorge J. Lambrinos, Executive Director of the Edward R. Roybal Institute for Applied Gerontology at California State University, Los Angeles, was recently appointed by the American Bar Association to its Commission on Law and Aging.
Lambrinos has been actively involved in the field of aging for more than 30 years in various capacities at the local, state and federal levels. He has served as Executive Director for the Roybal Institute at Cal State L.A. since 1993.
From 1985 to 1993, Lambrinos was Chief of Staff to Congressman Edward R. Roybal and a consultant to Congressman Lucille Roybal-Allard.
He was Staff Director for the U.S. House of Representatives Select Committee on Aging and served as Executive Secretariat for the Administration on Aging with the Department of Health, Education and Welfare. Lambrinos also served as Special Assistant to Administration on Aging Commissioner Arthur S. Flemming. Presently, he serves as the Vice-Chair on the California Commission on Aging.
He is active on various boards including serving on the Executive Council of AARP California, the National Council on the Aging (NCOA), the Los Angeles Leadership Council of Aging Organizations, and on the Villa Esperanza Services Board.
Lambrinos is a veteran of Operation Desert Storm and a Lieutenant Colonel in the U.S. Army Reserve.

The Edward R. Roybal Institute for Applied Gerontology is organized within the College of Health and Human Services at Cal State L.A. to improve the quality of care and delivery of services to a culturally diverse population of older persons. It works to develop partnerships between the University and the community that promote the well-being of older adults and to establish scholarships for students planning to enter health and human service careers with a specialization in aging.
