Cal State L.A. to Host Symposium
on North Korea on Fri., Nov. 14

The Cal State L.A. Center for Korean-American and Korea Studies, in cooperation with the
Korea Economic Institute of America, will host a symposium on ÂThe North Korean Threat: Understanding the Underlying Sources of Conflict and Potential for Cooperation in Northeast Asia. Free to the public.
When:
Friday, November 14, 2003, 9:00 a.m. - 1:30 p.m.
Where:
Cal State L.A. Golden Eagle Ballroom. The University is located at the Eastern Avenue exit, San Bernardino (I-10) Freeway, at the interchange of the 10 and 710 Freeways. Public (permit dispensers) parking is available in Lots C, F and G, or the top level of North Parking Structure II.

Invited speakers include John Feffer, author of North Korea/South Korea: U.S. Policy at a Time of Crisis; K.W. Lee, award-winning and outspoken journalist, formerly with the Sacramento Bee, and first recipient of the Asian American Journalists AssociationÂs Lifetime Achievement Award in 1987; Daniel Pinkston, senior research associate and Korea specialist at the Center for Nonproliferation Studies in Monterey, California; and David Steinberg, director of Asian Studies, Georgetown University and senior consultant to the Asia Foundation. Other speakers will include a representative of the Korean Embassy in Washington, D.C.
