Women in Film Presents
Scholarship Award to CSULA Student
Los Angeles, CA  California State University, Los Angeles student Gricelda Godinez (South Gate resident) was recently awarded a prestigious Women in Film School Scholarship for her academic achievement and internship involvement.
Gricelda Godinez, a senior in the Television, Film, and Media Studies program, enjoys the theoretical and critical studies aspects of her major. Her goal is to become a producer for a network or production company after she earns her bachelorÂs degree. This past April, she worked as a curating intern for the inaugural Luckman U.S. Latino Film/Video Festival-Reel Rasquache on the CSULA campus.
ÂI am very honored and proud to have received this special award. This award gives me the desire and ambition to do even better and to strive for success, says Godinez.
John Ramirez, CSULA professor of media studies and co-director of the film festival, notes: ÂGricelda is a most deserving person for this scholarship. She is an excellent student, insightful and original in her perspectives on media history and culture. In fact, the shape and quality of the U.S. Latino film festival owe much to GriceldaÂs creativity and vision.Â
